smartCRUTCHes, which are ergonomic and adjustable crutches designed to reduce strain on the wrists and upper body, could potentially be beneficial for some individuals with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain, fatigue, and tenderness in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
Using traditional crutches can sometimes exacerbate pain and discomfort for people with fibromyalgia due to the pressure they place on the wrists, arms, and shoulders. smartCRUTCHes are designed to distribute weight more evenly and offer better support, which might help reduce strain and discomfort while walking.
However, the effectiveness can vary from person to person. Some individuals might find relief and improved mobility using these crutches, while others might not experience significant benefits. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or physical therapist, to determine if smartCRUTCHes or any assistive devices are suitable for managing mobility issues associated with fibromyalgia. They can provide guidance tailored to your specific needs and condition.
Additionally, exploring various strategies like gentle exercise, physical therapy, pacing activities, and medication management as part of an overall treatment plan may also be beneficial in managing fibromyalgia symptoms and improving mobility.
Great quality. Injured left leg and right wrist. Used to keep body weight off of injured wrist, works well. Unlike traditional crutch/cane this is comfortable for me to use.
These are great and you should order them if you're looking to change things up. They look great, don't scratch, and stay in place. I ordered the mothman decals and I was disappointed at first because they were super thin and scratched easily. I contacted customer service and they send me a new set. The first ones I got must have been defective, because the second ones were perfect.
The folded size and weight are excellent for travel . Can be stored in moderate suitcase. Hand grips are good for fast walking as they allow use of hand power. The placements of thumb is a bit awkward and could be improved with a longer hand grip. And wider space for thumb placement.
The sent me the wrong sizes for cuff sleeve and the adjustment screw was the wrong one altogether
I’ve tried several times to call most of the time the mail box is full so they must have many other complaints as well I’ve also sent several unresolved text messages… I totally flabbergasted
So the crutches work great. The added arm cushions dont stick. I tried to stick them on and they immediately came off. They are really loud when I'm using them wich alerts people to my presence causing more people to interfere with my service animal. And on top of that their logo and name is plastered all over them. I don't want to be a walking advertisement. Other then this they are wonderful but it will cause me to never buy them again
