Several weeks ago, we wrote about preparing for Winter while using crutches. Now that the calendar has moved, and at the risk of jinxing an extended winter, we want to share some ideas on looking for signs of Spring while on crutches.
1. Explore Locally
Take short strolls near home to spot blooming flowers, budding trees, and chirping birds. Go at your own pace and enjoy small discoveries.
2. Find a Restful Spot
Relax on a park bench or sunny porch and observe nature. Bring a notebook or camera to capture moments like squirrels or blossoms.
3. Tune Into Sounds
Listen to spring’s symphony: rustling leaves, buzzing bees, and bird songs. These sounds are uplifting reminders of the season.
4. Visit Accessible Parks
Look for nearby parks with accessible paths. Many public spaces are designed for ease of movement and offer beautiful scenery.
5. Savor the Senses
Enjoy the warmth of the sun, the scent of fresh blooms, or seasonal treats like strawberries. Spring is a sensory delight.
Use the time to celebrate resilience. Spring reminds us of life’s perseverance and whether outdoors or at home, take pride in your adaptability and find joy in the season’s wonders. Enjoy The Freedom to Move!
